Your Eyes Are Not Playing Tricks on You

...but it's smart of you to ask. It's me. I'm back, if only for a few. I've been thinking about starting yet another blog, but then I realized I have to think of a new name, what I want to say, etc. I was trying to pinpoint exactly why I stopped posting to this and I realized...

1. They want me to pay for photos
2. Pinterest got invented and I basically lost my shit/my need to post all my wants/hopes/desires here
3. I got a job where I don't sit around all day, hating everyone.

So those are good things, yes?

Here's the deal. I'm going to write about whatever. The boring, the fun, the in between. Doubt it will last long, but on the rare chance my mother actually logs in to read this, she'll find a sweet surprise.

Here we go?

It's Evolution, Baby

Here it is....

Ok, it's really not that exciting, but roll with it. I have no idea if the name will stay the same or change. I have no idea if I'll be able to keep up with this after my vacation is over (noooooo). But it's here, I have pictures, and I'm doin' it.

Also...this is kind of fun...

I haven't figured out how to get my sunflowers transfered over (I feel like they're pretty important), but I'll get there.

It's been real, Poorboys + Pilgrims!! I need to figure out how to make this thing into a book. Another project, perhaps...?

The Wheels Are Turning

The winds of change, the wheels on the bus, the days of our lives: CHANGE. It's a-coming.

And I think it may be in the form of a new blog. I don't know. It could be the vacation crazies talking (vacrazies?!). But something's gotta give over here and I basically refuse to pay a measly $2.50/month to this site. Eff. THAT. That's like, a scone from Albermarle Baking Company. I feel it's an easy choice.

So stay tuned, people. Or run away. Either way... it's coming.

**side note: I JUST went to add a witty/cool/awesome/ironic/stupid picture to the bottom of this and realized I COULDN'T. Oh it's on.

Sad Story/Life Dilemma

Apparently I have reached capacity over here on Poboys and Pilgrims for sharing photos...noooooooo!!! I had a million beautiful new ones to upload today and now this!! I'm distressed. Do I start a new blog? Give up completely? Do some sweet Google research to see how to (maybe) delete older, more stupid pics? Pay the $2.50/month to add more space? Wait for Caroline to figure this out for me so I can move forward with life??

Stress. Dangit. I'm working on it. Well, not really, but an answer may present itself in the meantime.

Meanwhile, head over here for random photo overload.

Otherwise, stay tuned...

Gettin' Mine

It was one of those weekends where I did a whole lotta nothing and it felt great. I had no plans, no direction, no intention of doing anything. November is stacking up to be super busy every weekend (and I'm pumped!) so it was nice to lounge around, waiting for Sandy.

I had a coupon for a free latte at Hotcakes! Took my clogs for a walk and sipped on the goodness (...also slurped 2% milk and am pretty pumped to kick the skim).

Went for a 7-mile run (by myself?? What the whaaat?!) around UVA and napped in the leaves for a solid hour before taking it inside.

Caught up with a new book (and my "Perfect Boyfriend" in the background).

On Sunday, we rode to Crozet for coffee and convo. 30 miles later, stocked my kitchen with loads of PBR, hummus, chips, salsa, grapefruit juice, seltzer, bread, CheezeIts, peanut butter, and other hurricane essentials.

Had a backyard brew to kick it off right.

Pabst is clearly on everyone's mind these days...

Don't worry--the depression is temporary, lest I slice

The wind's starting to pick up, but so far we've still got power!! Hoping Sandy blows by us all (even though she is a great excuse to feast and booze for days on end...).

Good Monday, indeed!

Love Where You Live

I'll be the first to tell you that I. Love. Charlottesville. I am surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains, have quick access to the ocean, get to interact with the smartest people in the country (trust me--they'll tell you), and can take a hop-skip-jump and be immersed in something historic.

This weekend was no exception, and it started on Friday. Sometime earlier this week I go the brilliant idea to ask my boss if I could take a tour/spend the day at Monticello (because I honestly haven't been there since SECOND grade and what if one of my groups wants to visit?! I need to know how to sell the product!!). Being the laid-back boss that she is, she said, "Yes of course!!" Even better--earlier this year I won two Behind-the-Scenes passes to see the upstairs of the house, so naturally I invited my wonderful mama to tag along and snoop inside Mr. Jefferson's abode.

Friday was the perfect day to visit because a giant rain storm the night before left us this awesome spooky fog:

However, once we got through the tour, we were given beautiful sunshine and perfect fall foliage.

She's sooo pretty!
Ole TJ knew what he was doin.

Yesterday, I went to an adorbs baby shower for little Quinn N. She is sure to be the most fashionable baby on the block and I'm pretty pumped to see her rock her infant legwarmers. After the shower, I got a wild hair and decided I HAD TO SEE COPPER ASAP + we had a free pizza coupon that was expiring this weekend (waste not want not!) so I drove up to the VP and we gorged and drank like the good ole days.
OMG SO EXCITED!!
It's rough around these parts.
Some things never change...
And what better way to follow up a night of pure, unadulterated laziness? A trip to the Vineyard!

I've missed these two so...

Anything the light touches, Queen Caroline...

Obviously, another wonderful weekend under the belt. The only thing more exciting is that today is Granny's 92nd bday! All those years + a knee AND hip replacement and still lookin' fly. I'll take those genes.

Cheers to the Weekend,
Hannah
