Hannah Does Math

*Warning: the following post is littered with exclamation points (!). Be ready.

So, today was supposed to be a very bad terrible horrible blood-shedding day at work. No bosses around. Deadlines broken. Chaos errywhere! However, in the midst of all the insanity, I was able to have a moment of zen whilst perusing the Anthro sales section when I stumbled upon these beauties...

Eek! Terracotta clogs!? On sale?! Be still my Fall-focused fashion heart. I was so excited, and then I remembered a v. important fact: September is free shipping month at Anthropologie! The world is just! After some quick researching, I realized this golden nugget of good luck is only applicable if you have a full-priced item in your cart. So, I scrambled all over the site in search of the tiniest, cheapest, less-than-$10 purchase to add to my bag. I really wanted my little blue kitchen timer that I've been pining after forever, but they don't sell it online anymore. Weird. I couldn't bring myself to buy another overpriced Volcano candle that burns quickly and looses its wick, so I was lucky enough to find this lil cutie for the winning price of $6. Joy!

Then, potential disaster--what size clog to buy!? Either my feet have recently been metamorphosizing down to a tinier size or retailers are finally making shoes for giants. Point of the story--should I go 9.5 or 9?! THIS IS A SERIOUS FIRST-WORLD PROBLEM, PEOPLE! However, lightening struck, and I realized--it's free shipping! Free Free Free! So...I ordered both. Whatever. Gonna try 'em on for size, (literally) and return whichever ones don't fit. Look at me go. Also, I realized it is cheaper to include the addition of my little garden pot than to suck it up and pay the usual $7ish for shipping. I'm like a bonafide math genius. Soooo impressed with myself. Sooo humble.

Anyway.

This is the main struggle in my life right now. I'd say that's pretty awesome, wouldn't you?

OMG, Let's Go Shopping

I cannot remember the last time I went shopping for clothes and actually purchased something. I'm on a mission this weekend to find at least three new outfits for work and play. It's a daunting task, especially for a cheap-o like me. Now would be a great time for a surprise trust fund, dontcha think? All you personal shoppers out there...send good karma my way. Ugh.

Obsessed with this creamy white dress. So summery and would be awesome w/some colorful heels (see Kate Mid below).

Love the top of this dress paired with the comfy bottom. Lace me up.

Going nautical on yo ass.

Mathematical delight, and I love that I could wear these day or night.

Heavenly. Although I bet they would stretch easily and probably pick up tons of dirt. Meh.

Can't stop, won't stop. Love her.

Next mission--find the perfect wedding out fit a la Rhode Island nuptials later this month!

It's a Marvelous Night for a Moondance

Can it get any more beautiful outside? Low humidity, sun shining, birds chirping...perfect weather for one of the last days of the month. Took my car to the shop to get inspected [finally!], running after work, then getting my stretch on at yoga. Also, I'm becoming obsessed with Caprese sandwiches/tomato sandwiches in general. Nothing says summertime like two pieces of bread, thick mayo, juicy tomatoes, and salt + pepper. Heaven. In the meantime, while I'm counting down the hours till I'm free (1.5!), check out these gorgeous shots from around the way...

Cabinet r-e-s-p-e-c-t right here. I love how there's glass all the way around and not just the front. Super pretty, especially with the robin's egg bead board.

The first work I think of when I look at this photo is "plush."
She is divine.

Kicking back to my old faithful stripes, this time in a soft, shabby pink. Not of a fan of the window treatment, but who am I to judge and/or blow against the wind?

This room is fantastic. From the millions of windows and natural light to the cool collection of portraits stacked against the wall, I love the artsy fartsy studio vibe and the electric pillows.

Where can I get my hands on these!?!?! Skinny dip tea party at my house!
Hopefully everyone is beautiful! Taking my Holga out for a spin this weekend to see what kind of goodies I can get into. Fingers crossed for greatness.

PS. Beyonce's new album dropped yesterday. Get thee to iTunes, stat!

Hannah

I Survived...

...yoga, that is. Went to the first class last night--bent and stretched and centered parts of me that I didn't even know existed, but it was actually pretty fun. After tackling the pre-class giggles and locking up my crazies, it wasn't that hard to get focused and stretch out the knots from my ouchie earlier run. I'm thinking that running + yoga + going on a meat break could result in a beautimous friendship.

Meanwhile, I'm over here lusting after golds and greens and counting my breaths till the fabulous weekend!
How does your garden grow?
Serious mosaic tile love.

This bathroom is meh except for the groovy green mirror, meow.

Hope everyone's having a glorious Thursday!

Shutdown 2011!!!

With the government on the brink of shutdown, I feel like I'm an extra in the ever-thrilling, fabulously acted Twister. Cows are flying--people are screaming--Helen Hunt is looking fierce in a mud-strewn wife beater. All hell is breaking loose, and I'm trying to figure out how to spend my potential spur-of-the-moment vaca next week.

Shit.

I could spend my days shredding with Jillian. Repainting my dresser. Making homemade laundry detergent. Baking rosemary/olive oil/jalapeno/cheese bread until I burst. Embroidering Christmas presents. Getting late-term abortions to piss off the masses (jk! duh). Applying to new, non-government-related jobs. Participating in Wine Friday?! In general, LIVING MY LIFE. No point in getting bummed about this mess now. I'll be gettin' my blog on and readin' my books...nobody puts this baby in a corner, government!

In honor of me wanting to punch Congress, etc. in the face, I am offering you some 'punches' of color for today's post.
Get saturated.

This hue makes me want to leap to the heavens with happiness.
It's the perfect grapefruity vibe that I need, and I love the mirror with the green reflections.
 Juicy fruit my life away.

These gorgeous blue doors opening to that fabulous staircase...are perfection. They make the front stoop feel like an entirely separate outdoor space. Sparkles x 1million.

Bam!--bam!--colors!--everywhere!

This butternutty goodness reminds me of my mom's "new" bathroom. Bonus Mom points from me.

Just look at this. Soak it up. Almost as good as Heath Ledger's baby's mama's dress circa Oscars 2006.
Sigh.

Go forth and load up on national parks + cherry blossoms while you can. Who knows where they'll be tomorrow.
