How to Start Your Day

This morning, I woke up to a pile of cat yack filled with cricket carcasses! What a wonderful start to the week. Poor little party cat seems to have overdosed on HBCs...I can't say I'm not thrilled by her inner-killah spirit, but I think someone's learned her limits...

Meanwhile, I have spinach everywhere!!!
(yes, this post has guaranteed my spot to early granny-hood. Cat + garden = 80-year old trapped in my body. Can't stop won't stop.)

On Saturday, I went to a local wine festival with my love Sara! Met another Sarah and had fun running into people of the past and tasting all the (mostly) delicious wine from around town. Note: Horton's fruit wine is a no-go. Blech.

And finally, the countdown is on. It's been almost two months since I've seen this fool and almost one year since our lives ended completely. SW 2011!!!! Who could forget?!? But not to dwell on these subjects, as we have much more pressing issues at the moment... :

I would be fooling everyone to say I haven't been brainstorming this little photo shoot. It'll go down in the books! Besides, how could this little LL not create a magical holiday memory?!?

She's sfp.

Riding my bike to work tomorrow and nobody can stop me. I'm looking at you, rain.

Over and out,

Sweeter Song than the Birds in the Trees

The Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays, especially when it falls on a long weekend. Maybe it's because I remember all the fun we had at McIntire Park growing up, or the sonic-boom bombs my dad would set off from the fence, or the lying on pontoon boats at Lake Anna with fireworks reflecting off the water. Something about being together with the lightning bugs, the humidity, and the possibility for explosions always makes for a good time.

This year proved to be another great celebration,  packed to the brim with adventures, crafts, and new explorations. *PS. The Instagram app is starting to dominate all my picture-taking. It's too fun not to use...

Independence Day Slurpees with the top down--so American.

Road map to our lives for the next few weeks.

"Respect the bell?? What are you, running a marathon or something??"

Sooo sleepy. Sooo spoiled.

Lockin' it up.

Hi ho, hi ho...back to work we go.

Isn't this an awesome table setting? I saw a website randomly online about a group of people who get together and form huge, winding, loooong tables in the middle of fields and serve only foods that have been grown and prepared on the ground where they're eating. All the pictures were awesome and I'm a tard for not saving this site. Hmph.

Oh well, here's one picture that I thought looked divine:

LOOK AT THOSE PILLOWS! and that super cool sketch behind the bed. And the flowers. Oh yum, I will gobble this up.

So I found this badass photographer/lady on etsy [sara norris] who takes allll kinds of holga-y pics. I am in love. I want to order one (or two) but I can't decide which ones I like more...I like the yellow in this one. It makes up for Tuesday blahhhsssss...

... in vain, I have struggled. it will not do. my feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.

Ok. So, here are my favorite things that I've seen today (online, at least). Check it:

Counting down the days till my girl-date with Del to see this.

Also, saw some awesome photos from Jessica Claire...love love love the wedding photos.

Songs I'm into today:
  • You Made a Fool of Me--Me'Shell NdegoOcello (Seriously, with a name like that, who are you to make a fool or her?? Idiot.)
  • River--Jonie Mitchell
  • Chasing Pavements--Adele
That's all for now.
