That's Rhett Butler. He's from Charleston. He Has the Most Terrible Reputation...

In less than three hours, I'll be out of the office and hightailing my way down south to the wonderful, glorious, Spanish Moss-dripped heaven that is Charleston, SC! Can't wait to check out the city from a new perspective. The last time I was in town I was a mere 18 year-old crazy on a wild bachlorette weekend that culminated in topless sunroof screaming, Citadel-boy snagging, free drink shooting, and long, long naps along the Battery. We stayed at some awesome B&Bs and gorged on shrimp and grits...so obviously, the city left me with some fantastic memories to chew on.

This time around I'll be seeing with two of my favorite ladies--the fabulous Julianne and my daring copilot Eileen--so I'm sure it'll be even better. We're older, wiser?, and can afford to go out to dinner now*! On our own! Woot!

"Walking the streets of Charleston in the late afternoons of August was like walking through gauze or inhaling damaged silk."  Awesome.

I've stocked up on Pat Conroy novels and have prepared myself for waves of seersucker and pastels. Bring it, Chucktown!

xxxx, Hannah

*Not that we'll actually pay for food, b/c obviously we've stocked up on homemade pizza dough, cajun chicken alfredo, and rosemary olive garlic bread. Duh.

Bonjour, Weeeeekend!

It's absolutely brilliant outside, and I just found out I get to leave work at noon! Plus, I'm meeting Caroline for lunch at The Counter....going for a run...maybe checking out the Anthropologie sale section...basking like a cat in the sunshine...starting a new crafty project...probably heading to Jazz in the Garden...and getting ready for a glorious Memorial Day weekend. BONUS: I get to work from home on Tuesday!!

Go outside and get you some of this...
...a sweet southern breeze
... a hydrangea buzz
... a long and lazy brunch

...an afternoon delight
...and a little present for you from me

Come run with me, the best is yet to be...

Where I Will Soon Be Spending My Days....

.
Visiting the lovely and amazing KFelts aka Dreadlock 1!
Here's a view from her balcony. Yes. Yes. YES!!!!

In case you prefer a pool to the ocean...

85 and sunny, duh.

Seriously. Only Dreadlock 1 would live here.
Go Hokies!

Heaven.

More than likely I will not be returning.

Fish swim, I can hardly wait!

Cue Bela Fleck

Today I'm pumped about:
The smell of sunscreen every morning...and inching closer and closer to spring!

Cozy Cosi dates involving tabletop Smores.

Splurging on Tom's of Maine toothpaste

My new-and-improved running legs with a side of the skinnies.

Bachlorette festivities on Saturday!

Daydreaming about this porch and applying like mad for beach-town relocations...

Big Country love,

Holy Shit, I'm Moving to Vermont!!

...based entirely on this website that I just discovered--Vermont Tiny Houses!!! Also, I saw this adorbs post on Design*Sponge, my original blog love. I'm obsessed.
.

-
Isn't it cute?! THEN, I stumbled onto an EVEN BETTER website called Tumbleweed Tiny House Company. Is this for real? My life's calling has materialized in front of my eyes!!! They're tiny, they're cute, and they're like, $40,000! MEGA loves it! Take a look at a few of my favorite choices:

-
Here's the blueprint. It's awesome! Perfect size! I think it's bigger than my old Tiny House, in fact! I can just picture it now--me, Uli, Finn, and friends chillin' on the porch, sippin' Sangria, livin' it up in the cutest Tiny House on the street!
Look at the little church-like windows! And the trees! And the teeny tiny porch!
I'm dying over here.

Precious.
-

It's a little baby bodega. Hearts all around.

- Check out this sneaky bugger. Can you even see it?! ...probably the best thing I've seen all day. Gahhh!
-

-
So here's the deal: we'll listen to Paul Simon, smoke the hookah, and have a grand old time. Bring yo happy asses over, it's party time!!

Get Thee to a Garden...STAT!

So it's a rainy Tuesday and I'm thinking we all need a dose of nature in our lives. So here ya go!
-
-

-
Love the curtains. Dreamy dream dream.
-

-
These dainty little chairs are so perfect. And I'm loving the full-length shutters in the mellow teal. Pretty pretty
-

-
Maybe it's the Charlottesville TJ influence in me, but I love a column when I see it. And I especially love multiple columns in an outdoor living space with an awesome ceiling with trees trees trees and nature and a cute little table to sip tea. Mmmm...
-

-
It's official: I need shutters.
-

-
Gotta love a rug on a porch.
-

-
Warm, gooey goodness.
-

-
Mom, if you're reading this--this is what we're doing on your back deck. Wisteria included.
-

-
Pear tree canopy.
-

-
Beach-tastic!

Word to Yo Mutha (Part 1)

Yesterday I spent an early Mother's Day with my badass mama. We went to Lucketts, Virginia, and Historic Downtown Leesburg to check out all the awesome shabby chic antiquey junk stores.

First stop, On a Whim Home Boutique. Right off Route 15... look for the huge pink silo.

-
-
Polka dots and painted bed frames. Yes please.
-
-

Old dresses, bird cages, crafts, handmade soaps, perfumes, yummm.
-
Mom in her element
-
-
Everyone needs an iron rooster/pig in the back yard.
-
-
-
Next stop, the Luckett's Store.
-
-
-
Examining the treasures.
-
-
Obsessed with this porch and the painted blue ceiling and the flowy canvas curtains and the colorful furniture and the never-ending chandeliers.
-
-
-
The bison head's for sale for the great price of $2500!!! Jump on that.
-
-
-
This ceiling was so cool. Painted blue clouds...
-
-
I Must Have Flowers Always.
-
-
-
-
I'm pretty sure the ceiling in this room had a giant hole/damage so some crafty person took huge pieces of canvas(?) and billowed them together to create this. Niiice, I approve. Also, love the blue vase and flowers. So sweet.
-
-
-
Right next door... the uber-femme Beekeeper's Cottage.
-
-
-
-
SO much pinks, creams, frills, sparkles, love love love all around.
-
-
-
Plenty more pics to come... stay tuned, mofos.
