It's a Marvelous Night for a Moondance

Can it get any more beautiful outside? Low humidity, sun shining, birds chirping...perfect weather for one of the last days of the month. Took my car to the shop to get inspected [finally!], running after work, then getting my stretch on at yoga. Also, I'm becoming obsessed with Caprese sandwiches/tomato sandwiches in general. Nothing says summertime like two pieces of bread, thick mayo, juicy tomatoes, and salt + pepper. Heaven. In the meantime, while I'm counting down the hours till I'm free (1.5!), check out these gorgeous shots from around the way...

Cabinet r-e-s-p-e-c-t right here. I love how there's glass all the way around and not just the front. Super pretty, especially with the robin's egg bead board.

The first work I think of when I look at this photo is "plush."
She is divine.

Kicking back to my old faithful stripes, this time in a soft, shabby pink. Not of a fan of the window treatment, but who am I to judge and/or blow against the wind?

This room is fantastic. From the millions of windows and natural light to the cool collection of portraits stacked against the wall, I love the artsy fartsy studio vibe and the electric pillows.

Where can I get my hands on these!?!?! Skinny dip tea party at my house!
Hopefully everyone is beautiful! Taking my Holga out for a spin this weekend to see what kind of goodies I can get into. Fingers crossed for greatness.

PS. Beyonce's new album dropped yesterday. Get thee to iTunes, stat!

xoxo,
Hannah

And All I Really Want...

...is a bed. And a bottle of Alanis Morissette's rage. JKbutseriously.

Recently, all I've been daydreaming about is getting my bed/some bed up here so I can fill it to the brim with featherbeds, down comforters, delicious new sheets, and some serious pillow action. The whole sleeping-on-the-floor thing is starting to catch up with me (plus watching I Survived... right before bed is seriously not helping...whoops).

Here are some examples of what I've been thinkin' about:

1. Wallpaper heaven. Just joking, look at the headboard with the stripes!! and the blue and white color scheme and the crispy clean white sheets yumyum, yess please..
-

-
2. Ok, well, I've been dreaming about other stuff too. Look at these cute little teacups filled with jewels and junk. lovelovelove it. I will investigate this asap.
-
3. This bed, this headboard, those chairs, the curtains, the knicks, the knacks...I'm all over it. Let's get this (slumber) party started.
--
4. I have a feeling this room will bore me in a week, but right now, this is waaaaay superior to 30 year-old peices of foam on the ground that I share with an epic bed/floor hog. You know it's true.
-
-
5. Here are some new sheets that I'm feeling pretty good about. Love letter sheets!! Duh!! Then I really could read in bed...get it?!? buh.
-
-
6. Ok, whatever, it'd be nice to have a bathroom, too. ESPECIALLY one that's groovin' like this bad boy. Lights camera action, pop that bubbly bath!:
-
-
7. I saw this awesome collage/inspiration board that someone crafted and I'm feeling like this is my color scheme of the moment:
-

-
7. Ok, whatever, I just heart this picture. Awwwshucks.

Happy Tuesday lovers!

Money can't buy me class, but it can buy me lots of other shit.

After 15 hours of work yesterday, getting in at 8:15 today, and chugging a huge coffee (20oz? 24oz? eek!) my brain/body are literally on the fritz. Buh. Thank GOD it's Friday. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep in tomorrow, wake up, slowly get ready, and head to the city to tour the museums I skipped out on last weekend.

On Sunday, I'm checking out an apartment in Vienna that's in walking distance to the Metro and only 9 miles from work. Cha-ching, hopefully it's not filled with crazies... We shall see!

Crossing my fingers that I can leave early today, jet home, buy a cheap Target bathing suit, sit outside, sip some wine that I jacked from yesterday's corporate "Win Party," and live it up at the pool. In the meantime, check out this janx and enjoy the beautiful, sunshiney day! xxx

Color Palette o' the Day:
(who am I kidding, this is always my color palette)
Teals, sea foam, white, cream, pinks, blushes, baby blues, tans
-
-
Laundry room heaven. Lights, camera, gentle cycle.
-
-
Obsessed with the framed heart. Ob.Sessed. The pillows are probs my fav.
-
-
Beautiful porch-chandelier combo. Painted ceiling--an obvious choice.
-
-
Can you imagine having breakfast here every morning?? You'd never have a bad day again!
-
-
Ridiculous, ridiculous window shutter thingys. Ridiculous love.
-
-
I would pay a lot of money to be sipping some tea under this creation right now. Adult-sized living room tent? Check. Library of goodness? Double gold star.
- -
But really, truly, if I could be anywhere at this very moment, it would be curled up toasty in this bed, with AC pumping in on me with a serious down comforter and snuggly pillows. Dreams please Ugh. Seriously, where can I buy/give an arm+leg for this thing???!
-
-
Anyway. Top of the morning or whatever to you happy day, I wish you all a delicious naptime.
Loves, Me.

Mama's Day (Part Deux)

Outside the Lucketts Store are a bunch of tiny sheds that house even more goodies. Lots of old sinks, bathtubs, shutters, window panes, tables, chairs, ladders...
-
-
-
Some of the sheds had makeshift curtains blowing in the breeze...
-
-
Give me that teal dresser, thank you!
-
-
Glass-topped garden table, scrumdiddliumptious!
-
-
-
They were selling these old feed scoops for $38 which is some bullshit because we have tons and tons of these nasty things in our barn... and the old velvet riding helmets. Sitting on a GD goldmine.
-
-
This. Was. Epic. A MOSAIC WALL!!!!! It led all the way to the upstairs with stairs that looked like....
-
-
...this!!! Flower wallpapered stairs! Mosaic wall! Whoo-wee shut my mouth, smack your grandma...
-
-
More shabs heaven.
-
-
Chandeliers EVERYWHERE
-
-
Ok, so after we survived/died of happiness at the Lucketts Store, we drove down the road to one last stop, a junky junk shop called My Wits End. It was pretty cool, not my style, but whatevs.
-
-
In the upstairs of this building the ceilings were probs 6.5 feet tall, mega tiny BUT the floors were painted this awesome diamond shape that my mom swears she's going to recreate in her nasty country kitchen. We'll see if she pulls it off (obvi she will, and it will look way better than this).
-
Um, ok, so I didn't mind this chair. Meowww.
-
-
Or this one GREEN LEATHER OWCHEEEMAMA
-
-
Ok, ok, so we left Lucketts and didn't even spend a penny. Amazing? No. Cheap? Obvi. So we hightailed it back down 15 to downtown Leesburg and headed over to one of my roomies fav stores, Four Shabby Chicks.
-
-
This store is way cute in some areas, way antiquey in others, and has a lot of other shit that's expensive and smells like old ladies. BUT, it's always fun to snoop through, especially their large collection of awesome maps and old Harper's Bazaar covers and ancient textbook pages that are framed and looking fly.
-
On the same strip we went into a super adorbs place, the cottage, that had more Frenchy-type stuff that I loved and my mom poo-poohed. But, it had a really jolly owner who had a sweet accent, so it got my official stamp of awesomeness approval.

BREAKING NEWS: This is for my one and only faithful follower, the hot mess Julianne who is currently (I hope) gallivanting through Australia, spooning with koalas and frolicking with the kangaroos. Dude, saw this matchbox and would have totally gotten it for you duh, but it was like $45 for a box of matches and I do love you but bitch, please. Isn't it cute?! Cupcakes! Coffee! Get it?! okbye.
-
-
All in all, it was an amazing day spent with my favorite person, the one and only beautiful, crafty, creative, hilarious, weird, goofy, motherly, junky, shabby--my mom! Loves ya!
-

-
"Don't laugh at me--I taught you everything you know!!"

Word to Yo Mutha (Part 1)

Yesterday I spent an early Mother's Day with my badass mama. We went to Lucketts, Virginia, and Historic Downtown Leesburg to check out all the awesome shabby chic antiquey junk stores.

First stop, On a Whim Home Boutique. Right off Route 15... look for the huge pink silo.

-
-
Polka dots and painted bed frames. Yes please.
-
-

Old dresses, bird cages, crafts, handmade soaps, perfumes, yummm.
-
Mom in her element
-
-
Everyone needs an iron rooster/pig in the back yard.
-
-
-
Next stop, the Luckett's Store.
-
-
-
Examining the treasures.
-
-
Obsessed with this porch and the painted blue ceiling and the flowy canvas curtains and the colorful furniture and the never-ending chandeliers.
-
-
-
The bison head's for sale for the great price of $2500!!! Jump on that.
-
-
-
This ceiling was so cool. Painted blue clouds...
-
-
I Must Have Flowers Always.
-
-
-
-
I'm pretty sure the ceiling in this room had a giant hole/damage so some crafty person took huge pieces of canvas(?) and billowed them together to create this. Niiice, I approve. Also, love the blue vase and flowers. So sweet.
-
-
-
Right next door... the uber-femme Beekeeper's Cottage.
-
-
-
-
SO much pinks, creams, frills, sparkles, love love love all around.
-
-
-
Plenty more pics to come... stay tuned, mofos.
