Make Me A Bird, So I Can Fly Far, Far Away...

Ok. So. I'm back on the hunt for fabric to upholster the multiple amazing wingback chairs that I have (luckily!) inherited/bought/discovered from relatives + Goodwill. I think I'm up to 4 or 5 now, all of which are in desperate need of some fluffing, stuffing, and re-covering. I've seen so many examples of reupholstered chairs that it's a little overwhelming. Do I want traditional? Artistic? Preppy? Toile or houndstooth? Oh, the pressure...

My first thought was to have at least one chair covered in some sort of blue and white stripe (duh). However, after seeing this photo, I'm loving the leaf-themed print and how cozy it looks next to that window.
Something about this fabric reminds my of my Aunt Margo--who was always super stylish--so maybe that's why I'm lovin' it.

I've always really liked the idea of having mismatched chairs at a big, chunky dining table. These wingys are cool, but I'm thinking you'd need a really tall table or a chair with no arms to accomplish the appropriate "scooted-in" feel. Also, I'd probably be rll stressed about spilling spaghetti sauce or lentils or red wine (winter only!) or some other tragically staining substance on them--my middle name is Grace, after all.

Mmmm...I don't know why the color yellow is always taking a bad rap. It's cheerful and bright and deliciously sunny! Look at it. So pretty...

Ok. Obviously I was drawn to this like a squirrel to a bird feeder. However, I think it would be a bad call for me to spend (a lot) of time and money picking out swatches, figuring out the best panel placement, and mixing/matching the colors only to change my style in a year or two. Sigh. I will appreciate from a distance and harness my inner middle-school taste buds...

All right, all right. It's not exactly a wingback. But--everything about this print is pulling at my heart/purse strings.  I've always been a fan of chairs that are more long than wide. If that makes sense. Perfect leg-curling potential...

Anyway. Thursday!? Yes, it's true. Only a day left until I'm chillin' on a dirt road (kind of), stuffing my face with local seafood, jamming out to fresh playlists, gorging on Bailey's cake, and ridin' dirty (top down, chrome spinnin).

My hard-knock life...continues.

It's a Marvelous Night for a Moondance

Can it get any more beautiful outside? Low humidity, sun shining, birds chirping...perfect weather for one of the last days of the month. Took my car to the shop to get inspected [finally!], running after work, then getting my stretch on at yoga. Also, I'm becoming obsessed with Caprese sandwiches/tomato sandwiches in general. Nothing says summertime like two pieces of bread, thick mayo, juicy tomatoes, and salt + pepper. Heaven. In the meantime, while I'm counting down the hours till I'm free (1.5!), check out these gorgeous shots from around the way...

Cabinet r-e-s-p-e-c-t right here. I love how there's glass all the way around and not just the front. Super pretty, especially with the robin's egg bead board.

The first work I think of when I look at this photo is "plush."
She is divine.

Kicking back to my old faithful stripes, this time in a soft, shabby pink. Not of a fan of the window treatment, but who am I to judge and/or blow against the wind?

This room is fantastic. From the millions of windows and natural light to the cool collection of portraits stacked against the wall, I love the artsy fartsy studio vibe and the electric pillows.

Where can I get my hands on these!?!?! Skinny dip tea party at my house!
Hopefully everyone is beautiful! Taking my Holga out for a spin this weekend to see what kind of goodies I can get into. Fingers crossed for greatness.

PS. Beyonce's new album dropped yesterday. Get thee to iTunes, stat!

xoxo,
Hannah

Oh Balls.

Easy peasy ball jar holder.

Lovely glass cabinets + awesome sink.

Good day, sunshine, and hello patterned chair.

Room love all around. Ok, maybe minus the black couch. Blech.

It's that time of year again....stripes!

Feeling sick-ish. Popping Vitamin C with all my might, chugging Thera-Flu, stocking up on tissues, and choking down chicken soup (and maybe some Doritos, shhh) while visions of sun and sand dance in my head.

Back from dat beach

...and now mega depressed. J/K, not really depressed at all, just still wishing I were soaking up some salty air, lounging under Holly's umbrella, and spending time my lovers. Pungo is so super cute, I'm tempted to move there asap. You've got cornfields, surf shops, horses, and the ocean. Really, what more could you want?
.
In the meantime--with the blazing white heat outside--I'm feeling the need for some black and white/neutral shots.

I'm so into stripes, I should be on a boat.

We've hit crazy-town busy at work which means my life sucks and I'm reading all sorts of exciting material (read: most boring shit that ever existed), but at least it's raining and thundering outside instead of beautiful and sparkly. I'm lacking serious creative juices, so just deal with it bitches. Just deal. JKlovesbye.xxx

Check out this cute little chair with cute little pillow and delish flower arrangement and sweet little white table. Sugar and spice and everything effing nice. I'm currently reading The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender (my favs author) and it's rocking my life as expected. Wish I were sitting in this little number instead of rotting here in my cube over an overpriced turkey and Havarti sandwich that I didn't even pay for meh.

Things I already own and plan on using to emulate this room: Badass chandelier courtesy of Mama Carlson/thrift store; real-life dead antlers courtesy of Papa Carlson/the woods (I'm so legit, it hurts); bad art sketches, thanks friends!; overstuffed and awesomely upholstered chair; mirror mirrors on the wall. Ready, go!

-
Loves the windows. It reminds me of Chocolat minus sex-pot Johnny Depp.
-
-
freckles + ginger + Popsicle + tan = sweet summertime
-
-
Like I said--stripes. I'm wearing them right now. Nice.
-

-
Hello little bun.
-

-
Soulshine, sunshine.
-
-
Dream color scheme.
-
-
Honestly, who gets off a plane looking this good? Picnic basket at the ready? WTFFFF?! Maybe I'm just cranky because I can't decide who I love more...my girl Diane K or old-school love-of-my-life Joshua Jackson? Stars and hearts forever xxx.

Answer me this: what the eff is that clip in her hair? Sacrilegious. And just plain disgusting. It's not clever. It's not witty. You look like a fool. Sorrybuttrue.

Making Up for the Nasties

To make up for the sad, sad pictures from my last post, feast your little eyeballs on these scrumptious babies:

Stripes, stripes, everywhere! And lovin' the greys and greens and creams.
-

-
Oh, what I wouldn't give to have this oven in my house. Or to have a house. Obsessed with the red knobs. Obsessed with the copper pot on top. Obsessed with the red espresso machine on the counter. Obsessed.
-

-
Rooty tooty fresh and fruity, hello pineapple lamps.
-

-
Look. At.Those.Oysters. I'd hang this bad boy over my bed and call it a very good night. And the table...oh, the table. Loves it.
-

-
When I was little, I had a friend who lived in a log cabin in the woods. In her log cabin, her dad hung the most awesome indoor swing from the exposed beams that let you swing to ridiculous heights. Ever since, I've been obsessed with indoor swings. Who wouldn't be?

It's raining outside. And I'm not even near a window. Tears for everyone. Only 2.5 hours left until I'm free, free, free as a bird. Yessssss!
